Magnet Application Information

Applications for the 2024-2025 school year will open on January 16, 2024 and close at 4:00 p.m. on February 13, 2024.  You must have the application completed by 4:00 p.m. on that day in order to be considered for the first round of review. 

Any applications after that time will be processed as a late application.  The link to the application will be on the district’s magnet website: www.sbac.edu/magnet.  The open house schedule, as well as links to each program are also on that site.

About the Academy of Entrepreneurship 

The Academy of Entrepreneurship is an engaging program for students wanting to take charge of their future. The Academy is a good fit for all types of students with a variety of career aspirations. Whether you consider yourself creative or prefer working with numbers and Financial data, the Academy of Entrepreneurship will provide you with enriching curriculum that will propel you into the future. Our students go on to careers in business, entrepreneurship, education and healthcare. One of our main goals is to teach the "Entrepreneurial Spirit" and help students apply that to their own career, providing essential skills in career awareness and fostering the development of career ready skills. A combination that will ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to create a career that brings them lasting enjoyment and success. 

Why Choose the Academy of Entrepreneurship? All competitive events lead to building effective communication and professional presentation skills, that are important life skills when working in any job. Where as other academies only have the ability to gain these skills for 40% of there events.

The Academy of Entrepreneurship at Buchholz High School is a four-year program for students interested in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Hospitality and Business Management. We are a member of the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education and are recognized as a national model for schools wishing to establish Entrepreneurship programs. Our 2020-21  enrollment is approximately 300 students.

The Academy of Entrepreneurship is your link to an exciting career in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Hospitality, Finance or Business Management. Students are encouraged to develop projects in areas of specialized interest--such as Fashion Merchandising, Advertising, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Travel and Tourism, or International Business. Business plan competitions, internships, workshops, leadership opportunities, travel, and scholarships are all part of the experience. We offer computer curriculum using Knowledge Matters and DECA preparation using Competition University.

The world of work is changing at a furious pace, and those that are prepared to approach these changes with  confidence will finish strong.  The Academy of Entrepreneurship values innovative thinking as it applies to the business world. The future of the global economy lies in small business. 

The program presents entrepreneurship as a viable career option; provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to start and operate a business, and enables them to evaluate their potential as a business owner. 

What we Love about AOE

Students in the Academy love to share what they have loved and learned during their time at Buchholz. From teaching Financial Literacy to elementary students, creating logos and videos, to running their classroom business with the Junior Achievement Company program, the Academy has something for everyone.
